Powder injection molding uses the geometrical freedom of injection molding to build complex ceramic devices. The process chain starts with mixing a feedstock (high filled compound), which is then formed to fit the device via injection molding. After removing the polymers the ceramic particles are sintered to a compact ceramic device. Because of the cost-effectiveness of serial processing these ceramic parts are used in medical or sensoric areas and for design elements. Forming accurate parts is only possible by matching materials, processes and geometry.
